Susan's Bed and Breakfast of Sonoma

"Susan's Bed and Breakfast of Sonoma", 1999-2000, acrylic on wallboard and stucco. The bedroom in suite "A" is painted with a reproduction of Diego Rivera's portrait of a kneeling lady with cala-lillies. The entire room has been painted with a faux Mexican wainscoating and tile motif with the featured painting muralized for scale.

An auxilary room is painted with a faux ironwork headboard over the bed area along with wainscoating and tile motif. The hallways and entranceways throughout Susan's are enhanced with arches, faux windows and climbing vines.

The main living room area uses two stone arches to create a resort-like setting. This technique breaks up the geometric effect of the 1950's era architecture while simultaneously accenting the existing stone floors and ironwork on the windows.

The exterior of the house is painted with the wains-coating and tiles motif; this time incorporating faux shutters with wroght-iron fixtures.
